Surface is a personal photographic reflexion on the function of fashion magazine as a medium of dissemination of “mass culture” images and its relation to reality – questioning the status of the fictional world and idealized created for the magazine, and its relationship to the real world where the image is built.










Hiroshi Sugimoto for Hermès
Photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto collaborated with Hermès to produce a limited edition of 140 scarves printed with images from Sugimoto’s Colors of Shadow, originally created using a Polaroid camera.
Hermès, developed new inkjet technology in order to faithfully recreate the subtle gradations of intense color. Where the original Polaroids are small and precious, the scarves are large — just over 55 inches square.

Celebrities from different worlds of fashion, music, design, photography are “darcellized” and revealed for a new exhibition at colette during March.
